Drops Daisy

DROPS Daisy, new for 2023 from the parent company Drops, is a soft, non superwash treated yarn, spun from 100% extra fine merino wool. The wool fibers used in this yarn are untreated, which means that they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to the dyeing. This enhances the wool's natural qualities, allowing the fibers to breathe better and providing better shape stability and texture quality.

Made from 4 strands spun together, which give the yarn extra elasticity, DROPS Daisy results in nicely defined stitches, being especially suitable for cable, structure and moss patterns. This yarn’s special construction also makes it extra important to treat the garment right: make sure that you knit with the correct tension - so use a tight tension rather than a loose one and follow the care instructions.

As in all our merino yarns, the merino wool for DROPS Daisy originates from free-range, mulesing-free animals from South America.

This yarn has an Oeko-Tex® certification (certificate number 23.HPE.36896), Standard 100, Class II from the Hohenstein Institute. This means that is has been tested for harmful substances and is considered safe in human-ecological terms. Class II means the yarn is suitable to come in direct contact with the skin to a large extent, such as blouses, shirts, mattresses, etc.

*Do not forget that the display of colors can vary from one screen to another and also the nuances can vary from one color bath (Dyelot) to another (check on the band of the ball).

WHICH YARN CAN I MATCH IT WITH?

For a striking, hot red combination, try working together DROPS Daisy 20, red with DROPS Kid-Silk 49, electric orange.

The result has a knitting tension of about 17 stitches = 10 cm using 5 mm needles, which is a perfect fit for our Yarn Group C patterns.

Remember however that knitting tension varies from person to person and that the suggested needle size is only a guide. Just make a swatch!
