We are thrilled to have met Len O'Re - Arts & Crafts, an artist who, in his personal research on artistic techniques, studied hand loom weaving at the School of Arts and Crafts / Ornamental Arts of the Municipality of Rome..

I became passionate about loom weaving a few years ago and immediately, I realized that the more beautiful a yarn is, the more it must be worked in the simplest way possible: this is in fact the best way to enhance its qualities.

I already had in mind the idea of a baby blanket, which somehow recalled the classic plaid: it should have been warm but very soft and very light, to cover and warm without suffocating or weighing down, in a delicate yarn that would not be irritating to the delicate skin of babies.

The net came to my aid, looking for it, I came across the Alpaca Bouclè and it was love at first sight: very light, thin, soft and warm, with those curls that would have been enhanced by a simple cloth weaving, to be comb thin enough not to suffocate them.
It was exactly the yarn I was looking for, because the fibers are not treated: "this means that they are only washed and are not subjected to any chemical treatment before coloring." The ideal, therefore, for baby clothing and accessories.

"Spun from 2 ply, its heart is a blend of wool and nylon that makes the yarn resistant; the combination of alpaca and bouclé makes the yarn very soft, resistant to use and wonderful in appearance. The garments made are soft and vaporous. "
Its resistance further convinced me that it was also suitable for loom weaving, and the result was exactly like this: a soft and fluffy cover, enveloping and indescribably light.

The finishing is done in crochet and it was such a pleasure to work it even in this way, that I thought I'd take a step back and experiment with it in double yarn with needles: cream + antique pink, cream + ocean green, only cream, the result is it was incredible also in this case and, although the double yarn makes the work much more compact, with a unique softness and lightness.

The only limit may be the colors but perhaps this is due precisely to the absence of chemical treatment and the consequent impossibility of imprinting colors that differ too much from the raw yarn

I will definitely continue to use Alpaca Bouclè because the imagination, on the contrary, has no limits.

I wish and all (and why not, to all) a good job.
