"Cables" beanie

Braids of Big Merino and Kid Silk in the “Cables” beanie made by Francesca Roiatti.

Having this model on the needles satisfied three "vices" in one fell swoop ... a bit of braids to break the monotony, something technical never tried before to be tested and the softness of the yarns. In short, (almost) instant gratification.

The boot that I had never tried before is called Alternating Cable Cast on or a boot that alternates a knit and a purl to directly create a very elastic edge and perfect for caps that start with the ribbed band.

The Veronika Jobe model (pattern) is a classic unisex braided hat proposed in two versions, one tight and one instead of falling soft. I preferred the second slouchy version because I find it more modern and more feminine. While the adherent one I would definitely propose it for a male audience.

The yarns I chose are Drops Big Merino in lavender with some darker shades combined with an antique pink Drops Kid Silk to work together. I like to combine different yarns, in this case Big Merino creates the softness required by this texture while Kid Silk guarantees a more refined touch but above all I find that the silk yarn gives more structure to the merino one.
The ratio is 1 ball of Kid Silk by 3 of Big Merino. The "tsarina" effect is ensured with mohair.
I used circular needles size 3mm, working soft using it from start to finish.
