The new "Drops LoveYou 9" yarn available in 19 beautiful shades is made with recycled material and is made from 100% cotton.
Recycling is becoming more and more important and increasingly fundamental in our daily life. We all understand its importance and these actions have become a routine and a way to help our communities preserve the planet.
The cotton for the creation of Drops Love you 9 derives from cotton fabrics (used garments or weaving scraps) subjected to a recycling process consisting of many processing steps: the subdivision of fabrics by color, carbonization to eliminate any impurities, washing, de-minimizing in which the fabric is cut into small pieces which are subsequently sanded reducing the whole in fiber.
From here follows the carding and spinning process.
How is cotton fiber extracted from used fabrics? Below is one of the many videos found on the net about the procedure.
Once transformed into yarn, it is dyed and packaged in balls ready to be knitted to give life to a new creation.
