"Welcome to Life" set with Merino.
A series dedicated to the enchanted world of children, also because merino wool is par excellence the yarn of newborns' layettes, the first blanket, the first sweater, the first bonnet.
I love making what I call the "Welcome to Life" Set consisting of a baby carriage cover, a long or short sleeve sweater, and a square bonnet.
I work the garments for newborns with the "top down" technique and therefore without seams and with circular needles and the bonnet even with KnitPro 's 25 wood or metal micro circular needles but you can also use the 5 needles (game needles) valid either KnitPro 's Symfonie series or Prym's 15 cubucs or Ergonomics series
The Blanket,
this blanket a pattern by designer Elena Nodel "Nap Time Blanket".
The stitch is very simple and impressive; worked with Merino Extra Fine, it turns out super soft..a cuddle, a warm embrace.
To match the cover, I have made a quirky Cardigan for the little princesses.
THE pattern is "watermelon baby cardigan" by Stitchylinda Designs ( free pattern) the yarn is Baby Merino.
It is a sleeveless jacket, knit in one piece from the neck down with a spur in patterns reminiscent of melon seeds.
First jacket, bonnet
Don't rule out Cotton Merino yarn for your babies.
I love the texture of this yarn so much that I created this pattern named " For you "inspired by Emma Asked (free pattern).
A simple, linear, top down sweater accompanied by the matching beanie.
Finally, to conclude the roundup of these magnificent yarns, the
beautiful "Composite" sweater by Kelly van Niekerk (free pattern), made with Big Merino so with the coarsest yarn in the Merino range .
Always a raglan sleeve top down with a delicate pattern.
Worn it is a wonder.
Happy knitting to all !
