Grand gala of shawls

I arrived almost by accident at the Facebook page of designer Linda Allegra

I came almost by chance to designer Linda Allegra 's Facebook page and immediately liked her patterns, especially her shawls, simple in their making, with peculiarities of stitch plays, increases and decreases that make them very original.

So one day, I wrote to her for advice and ... we told each other a bit.

Linda is a very enterprising woman, curious, loves to experiment and above all she loves knitting a lot and does it with a lot of passion and dedication - Her favorite designers from whom she draws inspiration are Melanie Berg and Veera Valimaki.

THE first Linda Allegra shawl I made is "Overseas Slim Shawl".

This pattern is intentionally small and not very tall with a rather elongated shape, very easy to keep in your bag, a real treat!

It is very quick to make, even thinking of Christmas gifts.

It measures about 180 cm, height at the center 39 cm.

I used Cotton Merino from Drops Design (4 balls, needles n,4.5).

This is a very original pattern because, starting from a working of a traverse shawl, we proceed with the working of "shortened needles" obtaining in the end a scalene triangle shape.

To achieve a very precise definition created by the "play of the openwork," I recommend using a yarn such as Merino in a solid color or a mix.

The second shawl also by Linda Allegra is called "Little Rose."

It is a very unusual pattern in its scalene triangle shape, both because of the use of double cast ons that create very original fretwork, and because of a beautiful border that goes to close the work.

In addition, the work goes crosswise due to the decrease at the beginning of the iron and the double increases at the end.

This pattern is also not very large but very easy to wear even under a shirt or coat.

Finished shawl measurements 140 cm height closure side 64cm.

I specify that I used 4 balls of Merino extra fine Drops Design (wonderfully purple) because I wanted to make it one size larger than the original pattern.

So I can only wish you happy knitting with Merino Drops yarns and Linda Allegra's patterns .
